Automated License Plate Reader Alert Leads to Arrest, Recovery of Stolen Vehicle and Firearm in Victorville

PC 29800(A)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm
PC 30305(A)(1) – Felon in Possession of Ammunition
PC 32310(A) – Possession of Large Capacity Magazine
LOCATION: Bear Valley Road / Jess Ranch Parkway, Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Kimini Randall, 49-year-old, Resident of Oakland
SUMMARY: On Friday, September 25, 2026, at approximately 5:28 p.m., deputies from Victorville Station responded to the area of Bear Valley Road and Jess Ranch Parkway following an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) alert. The alert identified a vehicle that had been reported stolen in connection with an earlier felony spousal abuse investigation. The suspect was also believed to have stolen a firearm and two magazines.
Deputies located the vehicle in the area of Mariposa Road and Bear Valley Road and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as Kimini Randall, was detained without further incident. During the investigation, deputies located a 9mm Taurus handgun and two large-capacity magazines inside of the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered and returned to its owner.
Kimini Randall, a convicted felon, was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for, PC 25400(A)(1) – Carrying a Concealed Weapon, PC 29800(A)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm, PC 30305(A)(1) – Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and PC 32310(A) – Possession of Large Capacity Magazine.
