Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a shots fired incident following an investigation.
On September 29th at approximately 10:08 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the area of West 4th and North Scott Streets in reference to a shots fired incident. The case was assigned to Detective Ryan Kilmon of the Criminal Investigations Division. During the course of his investigation Detective Kilmon identified 30-year-old Wesley Martinez as the suspect involved in this incident and obtained warrants for his arrest.
On October 1st, members of the Safe Streets Task Force located Martinez in the 1600 block of Lancaster Avenue, where he was taken into custody after resisting arrest.
Martinez has been charged with the following offenses:
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Obstruction of Justice
- Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony
- Criminal Mischief Over $1,000
- Offensive Touching of Law Enforcement
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $66,500 cash-only bail.
