INCIDENT: Attempted Murder
LOCATION: 19000 block of Seneca Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT: Samuel Monroy, 44-year-old male resident of Apple Valley
VICTIM: 34-year-old female resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at about 8:23 p.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded to a residence in the 19000 block of Seneca Road regarding an unknown problem.
Through investigation, deputies determined Samuel Monroy and the victim were involved in an argument when Monroy assaulted and strangled the victim and prevented the victim from leaving the residence. The victim sustained serious injuries and received medical attention at the scene.
Monroy was detained without incident and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for PC 236 – False Imprisonment, PC 273.5(a) – Corporal Injury to a Spouse/Cohabitant, PC 422(a) – Criminal Threats, and PC 664/187 – Attempted Murder. Monroy is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
