The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for northwestern Rutherford County, including Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, and Bat Cave, until 7:30 AM Sunday. Between 3–4 inches of rain have fallen, causing the Rocky Broad River and nearby streams to rise. Additional heavy rain is expected overnight, and flooding could develop quickly. Avoid flooded roads and low-lying areas. Listen for flood sirens and voice messages in affected areas and follow all instructions. Be prepared to move to higher ground if water rises.
