Rutherford County Emergency Management advises that Lake Lure officials are opening the dam's tainter gates to 3 feet, resulting in increased water flow into the Broad River downstream of Lake Lure Dam. Residents and businesses along the Broad River below the dam should anticipate rising water levels and potential flooding in low-lying areas. Residents are strongly encouraged to move away from the river, avoid flood-prone areas, and monitor water levels closely. DO NOT attempt to drive through flooded roadways.
