FLOOD ALERT – LAKE LURE DAM GATE OPERATIONS UPDATE
Rutherford County Emergency Management advises that Lake Lure officials are increasing the dam's tainter gate openings from 3 feet to 6 feet.
Residents along the Broad River downstream of Lake Lure Dam should expect increased water flow, rising river levels, and possible flooding in low-lying areas.
Move away from the river and flood-prone areas. Seek higher ground if threatened by rising water. DO NOT drive through flooded roadways.
