Deputy Jaden Gragg with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 39-year-old Brittany Dene Johanns of Nebo with felony Possession of Fentanyl and misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was issued a secured bond of $10,000.
On September 30, deputies assisted the North Carolina State Highway Patrol with a traffic stop off U.S. 70 West. Johanns was a passenger in the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the car turned up drug paraphernalia including clear glass pipes and marijuana. Johanns was found to be in possession of suspected amounts of fentanyl and a small digital scale.
She was placed under arrest and transported to the McDowell County Detention Center.
