Odor Update 
We wanted to provide an update regarding the gasoline odor reported in portions of the Town’s sewer system.
The Virginia Department of Emergency Management has confirmed that there is no explosive danger associated with the situation. A buildup of vapors occurred within the sewer system, but now that the source has been identified, the odor is expected to begin dissipating.
The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has a contractor on site, and corrective action is now underway.
Residents who continue to experience a strong odor should ventilate the affected area.
