INCIDENT: Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed
LOCATION: Bear Valley Road / Cottontail Lane, Apple Valley
SUSPECT: Donald Bleichner, 32-year-old male, Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, deputies with the Apple Valley Station’s Gang Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Cottontail Lane for vehicle code violations.
Deputies contacted the passenger, identified as Donald Bleichner, and observed a firearm within reach of both Bleichner and the driver. When deputies attempted to detain Bleichner, he attempted to flee on foot but was unsuccessful and taken into custody.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a small amount of suspected fentanyl and recovered the firearm. The driver was released at the scene. The suspected fentanyl was submitted to the crime lab for analysis.
Bleichner was booked at the High Desert Detention Center for HS 11370.1(a) – Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed, and PC 29800(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
