Public Safety Power Shutoff - Activated
PG&E has activated its Public Safety Power Shutoff in portions of Madera County due to weather conditions. PG&E alone decides when to shut off power, which areas are affected, and when service is restored, not Madera County or the Sheriff’s Office.
The potential shutoff is scheduled to last until around noon on Saturday, October 17. Please consult pgealerts.alerts.pge.com for maps and notifications.
The Madera County Sheriff's Office will increase patrols in affected areas. Residents can charge electronic devices at the Oakhurst Sheriff's Substation, 48267 Liberty Drive. Hours are Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
PG&E is providing Community Resource Centers. The Oakhurst Location is at Yosemite High School, located at 50200 Road 427. The North Fork Location is at North Fork Rancheria Community Center, located at 56900 Kunugib Way. The hours for the Community Resource Centers are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Not all addresses will be affected. PG&E is responsible for the shutoff and restoration of power.
If you need assistance, contact the Sheriff’s Office at 559-675-7770.
