| On 09/29/26, at approximately 0716 hours, deputies assigned to the Moorpark Police Department patrol services unit, responded to the 4000 block of Lantern Lane, Moorpark, California, reference a stolen vehicle. Deputies arrived on scene and contacted the victim who stated the suspect had stolen his vehicle and made unauthorized purchases with his credit cards. During the initial investigation by patrol deputies, several additional victims, from the same general area, reported vehicle break-ins and vehicle thefts. Multiple victims were able to provide video surveillance of two unidentified suspects who conspired together during the neighborhood crime spree. The follow-up investigation was conducted by detectives with the Moorpark Investigations Unit. With the assistance of the Los Angeles Police Department, the stolen vehicle was recovered, unoccupied, along the 5000 block of Bellingham Avenue, Los Angeles, California and was later returned to the victim. Stolen property from the vehicle thefts was also located in the stolen vehicle. Those items were collected and returned to victims. Detectives were able to identify Anthony Covarrubias Jr. as one of the individuals responsible for the crime spree.
