INCIDENT: Home Invasion Robbery / Assault with Deadly Weapon
LOCATION: 25000 Block W Main Street, Lenwood
SUSPECT(S): Abelardo Jaramillo 31-years-old, Resident of Lenwood
Robert Perez, 33-years-old, Resident of Lenwood
VICTIM(S): Confidential, Adult Male
SUMMARY: On October 1, 2026, at approximately 10:10 p.m., Barstow Deputies responded to the 25000 block of W. Main Street in Lenwood for a report of an assault with a weapon.
When deputies arrived, they learned that two suspects identified as, Abelardo Jaramillo and Robert Perez, forced their way into an occupied apartment using a crowbar and demanded money from the sole occupant, a 44-year-old male. When the victim refused, Jaramillo and Perez assaulted him with a crowbar and a knife before stealing his wallet, which contained a large amount of money. The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle.
The victim sustained numerous severe injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Barstow Detectives took over the investigation and quickly identified Jaramillo as a suspect. He was arrested the following day.
The investigation continued as detectives pursued additional leads and utilized Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology to assist in identifying Perez as the second suspect. On October 8, 2026, Barstow Detectives, with assistance from the Specialized Enforcement Division, served a search warrant in the City of Banning, where Perez was apprehended.
During the arrest, investigators also recovered a portion of the victim’s stolen money. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue efforts to locate additional stolen property.
Jaramillo was booked into the High Desert Detention Center and is being held on charges of PC 211- Robbery and PC245(A)(1) - Assault with a deadly weapon.
Perez was booked into the Central Detention Center and is being held on charges of PC 211- Robbery and PC245(A)(1) - Assault with a deadly weapon.
