Prescription Drug Take Back Day, this Saturday, Oct. 24th 
Our second Drug Enforcement Administration - DEA prescription drug take back event of the year will be held this Saturday, October 24, 2026 at the San Mateo Elks Lodge #1112 from 10a-2p.
We encourage you to clean out your medicine cabinet of all unused and/or expired pills and patches that you no longer need, use, or will use. By discarding them at our drug take back event, you will prevent these medications from not only getting into the hands of those who shouldn't have them, but you'll also prevent them from getting into our landfills and water systems.
During the nationwide event in April 2026, 642,410 lbs. (321 Tons) of medication was appropriately disposed of. Let's do our part to prevent prescription medication abuse and prevent contamination of our environment.
