INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon
LOCATION: 14000 block of Jelan Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECTS: Erik Pena, 47-year-old male, Resident of Apple Valley
Nancy Bueno, 32-year-old female, Resident of Apple Valley
VICTIM: 36-year-old male, Resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, deputies with the Apple Valley Station responded to a residence in the 14000 block of Jelan Road regarding a fight.
Through investigation, deputies determined Erik Pena assaulted the victim with a large metal pipe. The victim received medical treatment at the scene.
Pena refused to exit the residence, prompting deputies, with assistance from the Detective Bureau, to obtain a search warrant for the residence and an arrest warrant for Pena.
After the warrants were obtained, deputies and detectives served the search warrant, resulting in the recovery of the metal pipe believed to have been used in the assault, 15 firearms, and a large quantity of ammunition. Pena and Nancy Bueno were detained during the operation.
Pena and Bueno were arrested and transported to the High Desert Detention Center. Pena was booked for PC 245(a)(1), assault with a deadly weapon. Bueno was booked for PC 32, accessory.
