Detective Adam Burnette with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 49-year-old Christian Michael Hall of Old Fort with felony Breaking and Entering. He was initially denied bond due to already being out on pretrial release from Burke County.
On October 12, Deputy Zeb Vance responded to a local business in the Ashworth Road area after a report of a breaking and entering incident.
Upon arrival to the business Deputy Vance observed a male fleeing from a minivan nearby with a trailer attached behind it. Deputy Vance gave the command to stop but the male did not comply. He also observed a door to the business standing open.
Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives began a search of the area in an attempt to locate the male suspect which led to his discovery a short time later at the 83-mile marker ram off Interstate 40. The suspect was identified as Christian Michael Hall. He was placed under arrest and transported to the McDowell County Detention Center.
Further investigation by Det. Burnette determined that Hall was responsible for the incident after finding items in the minivan consistent with breaking and entering, along with an item from inside the business. He was rearrested on Oct. 20 for the crime.
