On behalf of the Borough of Belmar, LaBella Associates (LaBella) is remediating the soil contamination associated with the former Amoco Station at 1200 Main Street, Belmar, NJ. Gasoline that leaked from underground storage tanks at 1200 Main Street has migrated into the soil along 12th Avenue. LaBella and our contractors will be remediating the contamination through the excavation and offsite disposal of the soil beneath the roadway. In order to conduct the remediation effectively, a portion of 12th Avenue along the 1200 Main Street property will be closed to all traffic. Please use E Street to access 12th Avenue during construction. The road closure is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 2, 2026, and is anticipated to last for 4 weeks.
