| Narrative: | |||||
| On October 12, 2026, patrol deputies from the Camarillo Police Station responded to a reported theft at the Las Posas Country Club. The country club was hosting a charity event for a local religious organization when staff discovered that a suspect had stolen several thousand dollars’ worth of golf clubs before fleeing the scene. Upon arrival, deputies used video surveillance footage from the location, along with witness statements, to develop a vehicle description and identify a potential suspect. Using the Sheriff’s Office Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system’s vehicle signature feature which allows vehicles to be searched by description rather than license plate, deputies identified the suspect vehicle and later identified the suspect as Brian Banner. On October 22, 2026, detectives from the Camarillo Investigations Bureau executed a search warrant at Banner’s residence in the 900 block of Sharon Drive. Banner was subsequently arrested and booked for PC 487 – Grand Theft, and was later released on bond. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office remains relentless in its mission to deter this regional crime trend through advanced investigative tactics, community-partnered policing, and the continuous pursuit of justice against those who victimize our citizens.
