Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a December 2025 fatal shooting incident following an investigation.
On December 31st at approximately 7:52 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 600 block of West 6th Street in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers located a 40-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as 40 year-old Marcus Foster. A short time later, Wilmington Police were notified by Chester Police Department the possible suspect vehicle from the shooting was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Chester, Pennsylvania. Chester Police also detained an 18-year-old male from the suspect vehicle who was in possession of a .45 caliber handgun.
The case was assigned to Detective Joseph Wicks of the Criminal Investigations Division. On January 2nd Detective Wicks identified the 18-year-old male as the suspect involved in the fatal shooting incident and obtained warrants for his arrest.
On February 3rd Det. Wicks presented his investigation to the New Castle County Grand Jury which returned an indictment for the 18-year-old male. On October 23rd the 18-year-old male was extradited back to Delaware from Chester.
The 18-year-old male has been charged with the following offenses:
- Murder (First Degree)
- Murder During the Commission of a Felony (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony- Two Counts
- Robbery (First Degree)
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Superior Court and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $1,311,000 cash-only bail.
