INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of a Firearm
LOCATION: Bear Valley Road / Pawnee Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT: Kirk Thibodeaux, 62-year-old male, Resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Monday, October 26, 2026, at approximately 3:25 a.m., deputies with the Apple Valley Station conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Pawnee Road for multiple vehicle code violations.
During the stop, deputies observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. A passenger, identified as Thibodeaux, was found to have ammunition in his front pocket. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, deputies located a loaded firearm and additional drug paraphernalia.
Thibodeaux was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for PC 29800(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and PC 30305(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Thibodeaux was also found to have an outstanding felony warrant for the same charges and was additionally booked on the warrant.
