| Narrative: | |||||
| On October 13th, 2026, a residential burglary occurred in the 3000 block of Big Sky Drive in the city of Thousand Oaks. Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies responded and determined several items were stolen from the residence, including jewelry valued in excess of $10,000. Detectives from the Thousand Oaks Commercial and Residential Burglary Unit and the East County Special Enforcement Unit launched an investigation into the incident. Over the following weeks, detectives utilized investigative techniques including Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology and covert operations to identify and locate those responsible. Ultimately, a larger criminal enterprise was identified, which involved multiple subjects working together to burglarize homes in multiple cities throughout Southern California. Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned Dilan Rodriguez and Kevin Rodriguez were also involved in burglaries in the cities of Chino and Rowland Heights. On October 27, 2026, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office detectives apprehended Dilan, Kevin, and two additional juvenile suspects in the City of Los Angeles. During the apprehension, detectives recovered approximately $7,000 in stolen cash, multiple stolen luxury purses, dozens of pieces of stolen jewelry, and two stolen handguns. The property is believed to be connected to burglaries that occurred in Rowland Heights. Dilan and Kevin were booked into the Ventura County Jail on charges of PC 459 – Burglary and PC 182 – Criminal Conspiracy. The two juvenile suspects were taken into custody by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department for their involvement in the burglaries in the city of Rowland Heights. Dilan and Kevin remain in custody with a bail amount of $250,000. The Thousand Oaks Police Department would like to remind citizens to be aware of your surroundings.
