Happy Halloween Safety Tips
Have a Spooktacular Halloween, Morristown! ![]()
Halloween is all about costumes, candy, and making memories. But before the trick-or-treating begins, let's make sure everyone gets home safely!
Our Morristown Department of Public Safety reminds parents, children, and motorists to take a few extra precautions this Halloween:
For Parents and Trick-or-Treaters:
Always have an adult accompany younger children.
Use sidewalks and cross at corners and crosswalks.
Look both ways before crossing the street.
Wear bright colors or reflective tape and carry a flashlight or glow stick.
Make sure costumes fit properly to avoid trips and falls.
For Drivers:
Slow down and stay especially alert in residential neighborhoods.
Watch carefully for children crossing streets and entering or exiting driveways.
Eliminate distractions and keep your eyes on the road.
Be extra cautious during peak trick-or-treating hours, generally between 5:30 PM and 8:30 PM.
A little extra awareness can make a big difference. Let's work together to keep our children, families, and neighbors safe while enjoying all the fun Halloween has to offer.
From all of us at the Morristown Department of Public Safety, have a fun, festive, and SAFE Halloween!
