Mondays at the Multi to start tomorrow, Nov. 2

Residents are invited to the City’s “Mondays at the Multi,” a new community-focused initiative designed to improve access to social services. The initiative, which kicks off tomorrow, Monday, Nov. 2, will bring together social workers from the City, Hoboken Public Library, and Hudson County, alongside local non-profits and service providers, to help individuals and families connect with essential resources and support.

The program will take place every Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Multi-Service Center, located at 124 Grand St. The initiative will also feature a rotating schedule of local community partners from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. each Monday. Each organization will provide an additional opportunity for residents to learn about specialized services and receive support tailored to their needs.

The first partner, on Monday, Nov 2, is HOPES CAP, Inc. which can help provide residents with benefits assistance, utilities assistance, senior transportation, income tax preparation, early childhood education services, and more.

For more information on the initiative, please see https://www.hobokennj.gov/news/city-of-hoboken-launches-mondays-at-the-multi or contact the City’s social worker Lori Hetzel at (201) 420-2000 Ext. 1082 or [email protected].

One-day closure of Southwest Park pickleball courts on Wednesday, Nov. 4

The Southwest Park Pickleball Courts will be closed all day on Wednesday, Nov. 4, to allow for repairs to the court surfacing, including patching and painting.

The courts are anticipated to reopen by 8 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5th.

Open Gym Thursday and Friday

The City will host open gym hours on Thursday, Nov. 5, and Friday, Nov. 6, for Hoboken youth at the Damon Murray Community Gym located at 605 Jackson St.

Open gym will occur from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Open gym aims to offer Hoboken children and teens under the age of 18 free access to the indoor gym space for recreational basketball in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.

Registration is not required to participate. All participants must bring their own basketballs, as the City will not be providing equipment. Please note, children must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

Open gym rules can be found at www.hobokennj.gov/resources/open-gym-rules.
