During the evenings of October 30th and October 31st, Central Marin Police Authority officers responded to numerous reports of juvenile parties and large gatherings in San Anselmo, Larkspur, and Corte Madera.
On October 30th, officers responded to several large gatherings involving hundreds of juveniles, including parties in Larkspur and Corte Madera and a gathering in open space in San Anselmo. Alcohol was present at some locations, one intoxicated juvenile was released to her parents, and another juvenile required medical evaluation. Officers worked closely with parents and homeowners to safely disperse attendees and arrange transportation home. One Social Host Ordinance citation was issued in Larkspur.
On Halloween night, October 31st, officers responded to additional party and noise complaints throughout Corte Madera and San Anselmo. In several cases, homeowners and parents took proactive steps to prevent underage drinking and address concerns before gatherings escalated. No Social Host Ordinance citations were issued that evening.
Officers also assisted with a large number of juveniles who entered San Anselmo after a gathering in a neighboring jurisdiction was dispersed. CMPA personnel spent significant time ensuring juveniles had safe transportation home and addressing welfare concerns.
Central Marin Police Authority appreciates the cooperation of parents and homeowners who worked with officers to address gatherings before they became larger public safety concerns. CMPA remains committed to preventing underage drinking and reminds residents that Social Host Ordinance citations will be issued when violations occur.
