On November 3rd, at approximately 1pm, Simi Valley Police officers saw a vehicle commit a traffic violation near Katherine Rd. and Katherine Rd. The vehicle also appeared to have damage from a recent traffic collision. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver failed to yield and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit proceeded to the area of the Rocky Peak overpass at the 118 FWY and Santa Sunsana Rd. Officers deployed spike strips twice during the pursuit, disabling the vehicle’s tires and slowing it down to the point where a stop on the vehicle was able to be made. The suspect driver, identified as Jason Wolfe (48, Simi Valley), was taken into custody without further incident.
Wolfe was arrested and booked for driving while under the influence of alcohol, misdemeanor evading, and is under investigation for a possible hit and run collision.
The hit and run is still under investigation, but at this time we have not been able to locate a victim vehicle. Anyone with information regarding the hit and run investigation should contact Senior Officer Sarfaty at (805) 583-6189.
