NOW HIRING Full-Time Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II (SLEO II)
The Ocean Township Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II (SLEO II).

Eligibility Requirements Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Be a resident of New Jersey and a citizen of the United States.
Be able to read, write, and speak the English language proficiently.
Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Be of good moral character and in good physical health.
Be at least 18 years of age and under 35 years of age, subject to applicable statutory exceptions.
Have no conviction for an offense involving moral turpitude or any offense that would render the applicant unfit to perform the duties of the position.
Possess a valid New Jersey driver's license.
Possess current Basic Course for Police Officers (BCPO) certification or Class II certification.
Selection Process Qualified applicants will be required to successfully complete a physical fitness examination and an oral evaluation. Candidates who successfully complete these assessments will proceed to a background investigation. Following a conditional offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to complete a medical examination, drug screening, and psychological evaluation. All offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of the required background investigation, physical fitness examination, medical examination, drug screening, and psychological evaluation.
