SUMMARY:
On Thursday, November 5, 2026, at about 11:46 p.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station, along with personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District and ConFire, responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision on Bear Valley Road, east of Kiowa Road, in the Town of Apple Valley.

Through their investigation, deputies determined that a silver Nissan Sentra was traveling westbound on Bear Valley Road in the number one lane. A gray Dodge Charger, driven by Tina Marie Valdez, entered the westbound lanes of Bear Valley Road from the parking lot located at 20920 Bear Valley Road, directly into the path of the Nissan. The Nissan collided with the Dodge Charger.

All parties involved sustained injuries which ranged from minor to severe and were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. Following the crash, Valdez left the scene without providing the required information or rendering aid. Deputies located Valdez and arrested her for a violation of California Vehicle Code section 20001(a), Felony Hit-and-Run Involving Injury.

An investigator from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded to the scene and is continuing the investigation. As part of the investigation, all eastbound and westbound lanes of Bear Valley Road, along with Bear Valley Outer Highway South, were closed between Kiowa Road and Multnomah Road for approximately five hours while investigators documented the scene, collected evidence, and interviewed witnesses.
