LA City Alert: LAFD Red Flag Parking Restrictions & Vincent Thomas Bridge Closure. LAFD declara restricciones de estacionamiento por B ...

Subject: LAFD Declares Red Flag Parking Restrictions and Caltrans Begins 16-Month Closure of Vincent Thomas Bridge Starting Nov. 7

Red Flag Parking Restriction Program will be activated TOMORROW

LAFD - Due to forecasted weather conditions, the Red Flag Parking Restriction Program will be activated TOMORROW -- SATURDAY NOVEMBER 7, 2026 -- at 6:00 AM and will remain in effect for at least 24 hours. It is important that fire apparatus have room to respond quickly to a fast-moving brush fire while simultaneously allowing residents to evacuate, if necessary. During Red Flag Parking Restriction periods, vehicles illegally parked in posted locations within the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones (VHFHSZ) will be towed. The parking restrictions are planned for at least 24 hours and will be revaluated based on the weather conditions. Visit www.LAFD.org/redflag for up-to-date information on Red Flag Parking Restrictions status.

Vincent Thomas Bridge

Caltrans begins a 16-month closure of the Vincent Thomas Bridge (State Route 47) in San Pedro on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 12:01 a.m. for the replacement of the bridge deck. Vincent Thomas Bridge is scheduled to re-open February 2028.

During the closure, Caltrans will minimize local traffic impacts through a combination of infrastructure improvements, manual traffic control strategies, and enhanced communication efforts. Traffic control officers will be deployed to 18 key intersections in the area to monitor and manually facilitate traffic flow, and local police will expand commercial trucking enforcement.

Motorists will be detoured primarily along Interstates 710 and 110, State Route 103, and Harry Bridges Boulevard. Caltrans conducted local road improvements on the project's detour routes, including the resurfacing and striping of roads and intersections, installation of traffic cameras, and placement of temporary traffic signals.
