Update on Sequim Elk Herd Movement - The Elk herd is located on the slopes above the east end of Brownfield Rd and 1/3 mile from Hwy 101.
The below update on the Elk Herd is courtesy of Tim Cullinan, Wildlife Program Coordinator:
On Christmas eve the elk crossed Johnson Creek and eventually made their way to the east slope of Bell Hill. This morning they are on the slopes above the east end of Brownfield Road, just west of Simdars Road. They’re only about one-third of a mile from Highway 101, so the yellow caution lights might flash occasionally, but the herd is in a much safer place than it was last week. So we can all breathe easier now.
