*UPDATE * Lancaster man dies of his injuries sustained during assault, #LASD Hom Det investigate.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man. The victim suffered blunt force trauma to the head in an incident that occurred on January 22, 2016, in the 300 block of East Avenue I, Lancaster. The victim was involved in an argument with the suspect that escalated into a physical altercation. The suspect fled the scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, March 16, 2016.
The initial investigation into the January 22nd assault was handled by Lancaster Sheriff’s Station personnel. Detectives identified and arrested 33-year-old Lancaster resident Timothy Munroe on January 27, 2016, in connection with the case. He was booked at Lancaster Sheriff’s Station on felony charges of battery with great bodily injury. Munroe pled guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 7 years in state prison.
The case is currently being handled by Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau personnel and Suspect Munroe could now face murder charges.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are enroute to Lancaster Station to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a man.
The victim suffered blunt force trauma to the head and was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at approximately 1:20 a.m.
The suspect, a male White adult, is currently in custody for the above incident.
