Altadena Deputies extinguish a small fire and arrest a female adult who started the fire in the brush on a hillside. 
Just before 2:00pm Altadena Sheriff's Station received a call of a person attempting to start a fire off of Pinecrest Drive in Altadena. The United States Forest Service and Los Angeles County Fire Departments also responded.
Altadena Deputies Sigala and Manriquez arrived first, hiked into the canyon, briefly spoke with the person that called 911 and they continue their hike and apprehended the suspect. Soon after Deputies Manier and Brandriff joined them and extinguished a small fire. The small fire was in Eaton Canyon on the steep hillside near the bridge. Thanks to the quick work of our Altadena deputies the fire did not reach any brush. A 42-year-old female resident of Los Angeles was arrested for setting the fire.
The persons that smelled a fire and saw the suspect staring it did a great job calling the Sheriffs, and we were able to prevent disaster.
