Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man, a teenage girl, and the wounding of a woman that occurred at approximately 5:54 pm, on Friday, September 28, 2018, at the 600 block of West Palmer Street, Compton.

Homicide detectives have learned that deputies from the Compton Sheriff’s Station responded to the location regarding a “rescue ” call.  While deputies were en route, that call was updated to a “gunshot victim” call.  When deputies arrived they found three victims inside the location suffering from gunshot wounds.

Two of the victims, a male adult and female teenager, were both suffering from gunshot wounds to the body.  Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics.

A third female adult victim was shot in the upper torso and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  Her condition is unknown at this time.

One male adult person of interest was detained at the scene. The motive for the shooting as well as the relationship of the victims are still under investigation.

A handgun was recovered at the scene.
