Per OakDOT: Eastbound lane of Shepherd Canyon Rd to remain closed near 5900 block fire station 
UPDATE 3-28-2019: Upon additional inspection and planning Wednesday, OakDOT announced that eastbound traffic on Shepherd Canyon Road between Snake Road and the fire station will remain closed until construction on the roadway is completed. It is estimated that construction will take 4-6 weeks, and when it is complete the roadway will be fully reopened.
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENT 3-27-2019: In the course of previously-announced construction work Tuesday, City contractors operating in the 5900 block of Shepherd Canyon Road observed compromised guardrail and pavement conditions in the eastbound lane.
As a safety precaution, OakDOT is closing this lane between Snake Road and the fire station. Eastbound traffic is being redirected onto Snake Road and Colton Boulevard. Inspectors are on site now and inspection will continue Wednesday morning.
While the westbound lane remains open and safe to drive, motorists should expect traffic impacts.
