Deputies arrested Victor Johnston for Strong Arm Robbery

SUSPECT: Victor Johnston, 29 years old, Transient resident of Needles
VICTIM: Needles Point Liquor
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 8:45 p.m. Victor Johnston walked into Needles Point Liquor and was seen by the store clerk concealing merchandise in his clothing. He was confronted by the clerk as he exited the store about the unpaid merchandise and Johnston struggled with the clerk before he ran east down Broadway Avenue. The clerk called 911 and deputies from the Needles Police/ San Bernardino Sheriff arrived within minutes and located the suspect a couple blocks away in an alley.
Johnston was detained and found to be in possession of stolen merchandise. He was transported to the West Valley Detention Center and booked for PC211-Robbery with bail set at $100,000.00.
Johnston also had three out of county warrants-
- One felony no bail warrant for burglary out of Monterey County.
- One misdemeanor $3,000.00 warrant for burglary out of Santa Cruz County.
- One misdemeanor $1,500.00 for drug related charges out of Santa Cruz County.
