Detectives assisted a multi-agency task force with a felony warrant service & arrested two subjects in Needles

LOCATION: 700 block of Palm Way, Needles, CA

SUSPECT(S): Thomas Yakaitis 37 years old, Torrance, CA
Breanna Emery 22 years old, Bullhead City, AZ

SUMMARY:
On January 23, 2020 at about 4:15 p.m., Detectives from the Needles Police/ San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department received a call from the multi-agency Arizona/Nevada task force, “GIITEM.” They were requesting assistance with apprehending a suspect they believed to be in the city of Needles on Palm Way. The suspect, Thomas Yakaitis, had two outstanding felony No Bail warrants out of the state of Nevada. Yakaitis was located and arrested at the Palm Way address. During the investigation, a hidden compartment for drugs was located inside of his vehicle with a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine.

A female, identified as Breanna Emery was also contacted during the arrest of Yakaitis. She initially gave a false name to law enforcement and was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

Yakaitis was arrested for the following charges:
- HS11379(a) Transportation of a Controlled Substance/ Felony, Bail $50,000.
- HS11366.8 Possession of a False Compartment for Drugs/ Felony, Bail $25,000.
- Out of State Larceny Warrant/ Felony No Bail
- Out of State Larceny Warrant/ Felony No Bail

Emery was arrested for the following charges:
- HS11377(a) Possession of a Controlled Substance/ Misdemeanor Cite-release
- PC148.9(a) False ID to a Peace Officer/ Misdemeanor Cite-release

Both suspects were booked into the Colorado River Station jail.
