The three decedents in this morning's St. Helena Island shooting identified; investigation is ongoing 
At around 11:30 this morning, Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of three adults wounded in a shooting at a residence on Eddings Point Rd., St. Helena Island.
When they arrived, deputies secured the scene for Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services to tend to the wounded people: two were pronounced dead at the scene, one was transported and later died at the Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
The Beaufort County Coroner's Office identified the three decedents as 55-year-old Robin Saunders of St. Helena, 22-year-old Kalila Saunders of St. Helena and 24-year-old Jaquan Sanders of Seabrook.
Forensic autopsies are scheduled to be conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina on Wednesday, Feb. 2.
Throughout the day, investigators processed the scene for forensic evidence and interviewed witnesses.
Although the case remains under investigation, it is believed that all parties involved in the shooting have been identified and located.
