Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are assisting the Hawthorne Police Department with their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of an adult male in Hawthorne.
Hawthorne Police Department Officers responded to the 3900 block of 115th Street regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call at 10:13 PM last night. Upon arriving they discovered the victim unresponsive in the driveway of a home suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators learned the victim was on an access road at the end of the cul de sac on 115 Street and the 105 Freeway when an unknown person shot him. The victim ran east on 115th Street to a residential driveway where he collapsed.
The victim does not live in the residence he was discovered in front of.
There is no suspect or suspect vehicle description at this time. The murder weapon remains outstanding. It is unknown if this shooting is gang related.
The victim is only described as an adult male white or Hispanic. His age is unknown.
