The suspect driver in this crash is identified as Patrick Wayne Nuner, male, birthday 04/19/1974. He was arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center yesterday for the charge of Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle. This incident is still under investigation by the Amarillo PD Traffic Investigation Unit.
**Original Release**
On March 18, 2023, at approximately 7:28PM, An APD Officer witnessed a major crash at SE 3rd and Buchanan. A GMC Pickup driven by a male age 48, had been traveling East bound on SE 3rd at a high rated speed, approaching Buchanan. The driver disregarded the red light at Buchanan and struck a Ford sedan traveling North bound on Buchanan. The driver of the Ford Sedan, Laura Sanders, female, age 42, was transported to an area hospital where she died as result of injuries sustained in the crash. The other driver was also transported to NWTH with non-life-threatening injuries. He was not arrested due to being admitted into the hospital. Justice of the Peace Debbie Horn was notified and ordered an autopsy. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Unit of the Amarillo Police Department.
