Murder Suspect Arrested By The Major Crimes Task Force.

CRIME: 187PC-Murder. Occurred on January 25th, 2019
VICTIM: Jaime Guzman, Pomona Resident.
SUSPECT: Gardenia Guzman, 29-year old, Pomona Resident.
UNIT: Major Crimes Task Force/ Major Crimes Unit Investigators.
NARRATIVE:
On 01/25/19 Pomona Police Officers responded to the 200 blk of West Grove Ave regarding an unknown disturbance. Upon officer’s arrival they discovered the victim, who was lying in his apartment, suffering from a single stab wound to his upper torso area. Life saving measures was initiated; however, the victim succumbed to his injuries inside the apartment.
Homicide investigators responded and conducted an exhaustive investigation. During the investigation they were able to identify the victims’ daughter, Gardenia Guzman, as the person they believe stabbed the victim. It is believed the victim and suspect were involved in an argument and, at some point; the suspect grabbed a knife and stabbed her father to death.
An arrest warrant was issued for the suspect; however, her whereabouts was unknown. On 05/04/19 members of the Major Crimes Task Force contacted a group of individuals and eventually learned one of the subjects was Gardenia Guzman. She was arrested for her outstanding warrant and transported to the Pomona Police Dept. Investigators are currently speaking with Gardenia Guzman in an attempt to establish a motive for the crime.
