National Weather Service Issues Red Flag Warning

The National Weather Service in San Francisco has issued a Red
Flag Warning which is in effect from 11 PM Monday, October 19th, through 8:00 AM Wednesday October 21st

Bursts of gusty offshore winds and dry conditions will develop
tonight and carry into the next several days. These weather conditions, in combination with very dry grass, brush and trees, will result in an increased risk of new wildfire starts and rapid
wildfire spread.

* WIND...North to northeast 10 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Winds
will be stronger overnight. Locally stronger winds are possible
over the higher ridges and peaks.

* HUMIDITY...Daytime humidity in the 20-30% range with poor
overnight moisture recovery in the 12-20% range.

* HIGHEST THREAT...Mountains of Napa County and northeastern
  Sonoma County.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that start will likely spread rapidly due
to the combination of dry grass, brush and trees, gusty north-northeasterly winds,
  and low humidity.

Instructions:

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
