Sheriff's Office investigating shooting on Centerview Drive, Beaufort. One man was wounded. 
At approximately 2:40 today, Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim — adult male— outside a residence on Centerview Drive (Polk Village) in Beaufort.
Upon their arrival, deputies secured the scene. The wounded man was located and has since been transported to the Beaufort Memorial Hospital by Emergency Medical Services.
It is believed the subject(s) responsible fled the area following the shooting. There does not appear to be a threat to the general public.
Residents and motorists near Polk Village can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence over the next few hours.
