Sheriff's Office investigating shooting on St. Helena Island; two men wounded, no public safety threat 
The Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that occurred on St. Helena Island.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., May 27, 2022, two men and a woman reported they were shot at by a male subject — they are familiar with — while traveling in a vehicle near the 400 block of Seaside Road.
The two men inside the vehicle sustained gunshot wounds and were driven to Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
There is no update on the condition of the wounded men.
Sheriff's Office patrol deputies and investigators are on scene.
This appears to be a targeted event. There is no public safety threat.
Residents and motorists near Seaside Rd. can expect an increased law enforcement presence over the next few hours.
