The Suffolk County Police Department's 6th Pct. is warning residents of ongoing TELEPHONE SCAMS. These scams, in part, include: 1) Asking people to wire money immediately for a family member in trouble in-country or overseas. 2) Wiring money to unknown person(s) in order to get out of trouble with the IRS(tax penalties/fines) Beware of such scams and call 852-COPS (2677) if you suspect someone has attempted to make you a victim of said scams.
