| On 1-25-17, detectives with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office followed up on information of a possible deceased person located in a rural encampment near Camp Comfort. Detectives located the camp and, upon further investigation, confirmed human remains were present. The remains were collected by the Ventura County Coroner’s Office. At this time, the identity of the deceased is unknown and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Det.
