On 09/25/18, at about 9:45 a.m., A Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling in the area of Harbor Boulevard and Olivas Park Drive. The deputy observed a vehicle parked in a “No Parking” area. Upon further examination, the deputy also observed the registration on the vehicle was expired. The deputy contacted the driver, (A-1) Joanne Martinez, for the violations. Upon speaking with Martinez, it was learned she was in possession of a controlled substance. The deputy located a zip-lock baggie with a large quantity of a crystalline substance that the deputy recognized as methamphetamine. The zip-lock bag and contents were weighed and found to be over a half-pound. The street value of the drugs was estimated to be $12,000. Martinez was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Jail for H&S 11378 – Possession for sale of a controlled substance and H&S 11379 – Transportation of a controlled substance. Martinez’s bail was set at $100,000. Martinez’s court appearance is scheduled for 10/10/18. |
