The Morris Plains Police has an important message for the community!
This is the time of year when citizens receive numerous telephone solicitations for donations to various organizations. Please beware some of these solicitations may be fraudulent. If you are inclined to donate please have the solicitor send all information to you via mail. Never give your personal or credit card information to anyone over the telephone. Please read about and investigate any charity with due diligence. One common request is for police type charities. Many of these solicitations are for organizations that do not support your local, county or state police. The Morris Plains Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, Local 254, holds only one fundraiser per year which is held in the spring. If you have any questions or concerns about the legitimacy of a charity please contact us.
