On Tuesday, September 3, 2013, Sergeant Robert LeSage was recognized by Chief Paul Henisey during a promotion ceremony held at the UCI University Club. Joining in the celebration was his family, fellow police personnel, and colleagues from the UC Irvine community.
Sergeant LeSage is a 20 year veteran of the UC Irvine Police Department and was promoted from his former position as a Corporal in the Patrol Division. He will be assigned as a field supervisor on the night shift. Sergeant LeSage holds an Associate's degree in Criminology from Golden West College. He began his career in law enforcement with the Huntington Beach Police Department and then joined UCIPD in 1993. In his 20 years with UCIPD, Sergeant LeSage has served in a variety of positions. He has been a Field Training Officer, Motor Officer, and a Firearms and Tactics Instructor. Sergeant LeSage's more recent projects include the training of the campus community in Active Shooter/Workplace Violence response and conducting site security assessments.
