Most motorists are well aware of the laws regarding the use of infant and child safety seats. However, many motorists are not aware that a large percentage of these seats are not properly installed in vehicles. For these seats to provide the maximum protection for children, it is imperative that they be properly installed.

The Morris Plains Police Department has an officer specially trained and certified in the proper installation of infant & child safety seats. To schedule an appointment, contact Sgt. Michael Koroski via email at [email protected] or leave him a voice mail at 973-538-2284 ext. 4035.

Motorists have other options available for infant & child safety seat installation & inspections as well. Various businesses and civic organizations sponsor/host inspections throughout the year. For example, the Shade Tree Garage (171 Washington Street in Morristown) is hosting such an event this Saturday, January 11th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and again on Tuesday, January 21st from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. To avoid a long wait, an appointment can be made by calling 973-540-9880 or online at [email protected].
