Safety Bulletin & Attempt to Find Additional Victims
On 5/8/14, a UCI Extension student was approached at an off-campus location by Rivera. During their conversation, Rivera harassed the student and a physical altercation occurred. The UC Irvine Police Department is seeking further information from persons that may have been harassed by Rivera. Rivera appears to target female Japanese UCI Extension students or female students of Japanese descent. Rivera usually gains a female student’s trust or friendship by introducing himself as a volunteer or English teacher at UCI.
