Suffolk County Police arrested a Deer Park man last night for damaging the tires on more than 19 vehicles in the Deer Park area during the past month.

First Precinct Crime Section officers John Focas and Madeline Cunningham were investigating several incidents of vandalism to vehicles in the parking lots of the Deer Park Library, Deer Park Bowl, and various supermarkets when they discovered many more connected incidents in which the tires were punctured with a sharp object. The incidents occurred from early October to the beginning of November.

Scott Silverman, 56, of 68 Irving Avenue, Deer Park was arrested in connection with these cases and has been charged with 19 counts of Criminal Mischief 4^th Degree and one count of Criminal Mischief 3^rd Degree. He is being held at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
