UCI Police Department has received reports of two motor vehicle thefts and one automobile burglary on the UCI campus.
The first vehicle, a 2000 model Honda Civic Coupe, was taken from the fifth floor (northwest corner) of the Anteater Recreation Center/East Campus Parking Structure between 11:00 p.m. January 8 and 4:00 p.m. January 9. The second vehicle, a locked 2010 BMS Roman motor scooter, was taken from the Arroyo Vista 3 parking lot between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on January 9.
Additionally, a 2001 Honda Civic located in the Vista del Campo Norte parking lot was burglarized between 11:00 p.m. January 8 and 1:00 p.m. January 10. Unknown suspect(s) took the stereo and center console faceplate. It’s possible the vehicle was unlocked.
When you park your vehicle for several days, close all windows, lock all doors, and check on it periodically. Try to park in well-lit and heavily populated areas, and do not leave valuable items visible.
In emergency situations or during crimes in progress, dial 9-1-1 or use an emergency phone available on campus. Emergency phone locations are shown on the campus map available at http://communications.uci.edu//documents/pdf/UCI_14_map_campus.pdf
